When Did We Become Vegetarians?

So Forrest and I are trying to get back in shape and eat much healthier. The main are trying to accomplish this is by eliminating fat from out diet… I got the idea from bffl. The goal is to keep our daily intake below 30 grams… I prefer 20 grams, but some days it’s easier than others! So last week when I made the weekly grocery story run, I purchased:
Turkey meat (we’ve eliminated almost all red meat from our diet… but we’ve been doing that for a while)
Chicken sausage
Dish soap
Toilet Paper
And everything else… Veggies (and a few fruits)
I only managed to spend around $60 (which we mean we would only spend about $340/month on groceries… which for buying a ton of produce seems fantastic to me)
So our meals this week have consisted of:
Monday –  Veggie kabobs on the grill with the chicken sausage
Tuesday – Zucchini lasagna with homemade tomato sauce and turkey meat
Tonight – Spaghetti squash with homemade marinara sauce (completely fat free!)
Tomorrow Night – Butternut squash pesto pizza (we bought the wrong squash for tonight so we need to make use of it!)
Friday Night- Chipotle (in which as shameful as it is… we are splitting a burrito bowl in which we have already figured out the fat content so that we could pick the healthiest option)
So now all of a sudden, we are practically vegetarians! Strange! I think Forrest is a little more hesitant than I am, but so far it is really paying off. We have both already lost weight without really exercising a whole lot (as soon as we figure out our new income, we plan on joining the local Y so we have to be accountable to go). We are exercising as much as we can at home, but on days like today when it’s almost 100 degrees outside, it takes a lot of motivation to go outside and run! We plan on keeping up this lifestyle. We both feel much better and for example… we both ate probably more than we should have tonight, but literally everything we ate was a vegetable, so even over eating a little, it was still fat free and still very low calorie! So it’s worth a try if it’s already producing results!
